Roll up your sleeves and get stuck into our brand-new event of festive artisan bread-making! Proper bread should be made from just flour, water, yeast and salt – and nothing else! Guided by our master baker, you’ll craft up to four Christmas loaves, both savoury and sweet. You’ll leave with not only a bag full of freshly baked goodies but also a new-found love for home-made bread that will make shop-bought a thing of the past.
Expect seasonal specialties like:
+ A Winter Enriched Sourdough
+ A festive Savory Brioche
+ A Christmas Eve Flatbread with warming spices and seeds
+ Stollen Mini Breads.
In addition, festive demos will include a Rye Bread made with winter ale from Blackfriars’ very own brewery, a ciabatta with a merry twist, and tips on using roasted vegetable leftovers for the Boxing Day buffet table. You’ll also work on a special centrepiece for a festive get together with friends.
These courses are designed to be a blend of relaxation, learning, and plenty of fun—perfect for getting into the Christmas spirit!
COST: £160 per person which includes refreshments throughout the day, a set three course communal lunch (including vegetarian option) with wine in the Cookery School, your own apron, breads and recipes to take home. Places are only confirmed once paid in full and are non-refundable or transferable.
WHAT TO WEAR: Aprons are provided though please arrive in comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit messy.
