GRAPE BRITANNIA WINE TASTING
Join us for a Grape Britannia Wine Tasting event, a celebration of the burgeoning British viticulture and vinification industry. British wines are gaining international acclaim for their freshness, crisp acidity, and fruity characteristics. This surge in recognition is fuelled by a growing commitment to sustainability and support for local producers, making the British wine scene ripe with opportunity.
Britain is now producing some of the world’s most outstanding sparkling wines and is making significant strides with elegant whites, refreshing reds, and a other varieties and styles. Chapel Down, England’s leading wine producer, offers a world-class range of sparkling and still wines as well as unique investment opportunities, allowing you to be a part of their exceptional story.
A significant milestone, placing UK wine on the international map was in 2015 when French Champagne expert, President Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger recognised the potential of the Kent countryside for its ideal grape-growing conditions. He planted the first grapes in 2017, leading to a flourishing vineyard and a new brand Domaine Evremond.
Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Kent countryside, Silverhand Estate is a hidden gem that offers a unique blend of natural beauty and rich heritage. It is defining the new rules of English sparkling wine, having established the largest single organic vineyard in the UK, covering an area of more than 500 acres.
Your evening will begin with a welcoming glass of British fizz, followed by six fantastic samples of British wines, complemented by nibbles. Our wine expert will guide you through each wine, explaining its production process and offering tips on how to best appreciate its unique qualities as well as learning about the UK wine-making history and journey to where it is today.
