Be inspired by the unique bakery tradition of the Scandinavia. You will create a selection of traditional bakery items from all four corners of the Nordics: Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. You will get a taste for traditional flavours and produce used in Nordic bakery and how these baked goods form an integral part of everyday life and customs. You will master useful bakery techniques to elevate your home baking, and of course you can enjoy the freshly-baked results with coffee.

EXPECT RECIPES AND TECHNIQUES SUCH AS:

+ Nordic Buns, Three-Ways: Norwegian Cinnamon Rolls (Skillingsboller); Swedish Cardamom Knots (Kardemummebullar); Finnish Butter Buns (Voisilmapulla)
+ Hygge-style Baking: Danish Coconut Dreamcake (Drommekage); Swedish Almond Toffee Cake (Toscakaka)
+ Celebratory Cakes: Norwegian Kvaefjordkake – Traditional Layer Cake with Lingonberries and Cream
+ Swedish Rye Crispbreads.

WHERE: Blackfriars Cookery School

TIMES: 9.30am to 4.30pm

COST: £160 per person which includes refreshments throughout the day, a communal lunch with wine and coffee in the Cookery School, your own apron and recipes to take home. Places are only confirmed once paid in full and are non-refundable or transferable.

WHAT TO WEAR: Aprons are provided though please arrive in comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit messy.
