Our 80-seat restaurant occupies the friary’s former refectory and is believed to be the oldest dining room in the UK!
The restaurant now features a mix of comfortable booth seating and new tables and chairs as well as beautiful stained glass windows. On the menu, you will find gutsy, traditional British food using seasonal produce from the local farms and producers and we also serve one of the most inexpensive lunch and early evening set menus in town. In the evening you’ll find our award-winning set and à la carte menus which change regularly to capitalise on seasonal produce. After dining with us you will see why we were voted Taste of England by the North East England Tourism Awards.
