Experience the art of traditional Italian bread-making in this hands-on masterclass inspired by the rustic kitchens and wood-fired ovens of Italy. Using just flour, water, yeast, and salt, you’ll learn to create a range of regional breads using time-honoured techniques and stone-ground flours. Guided by our expert baker, you’ll hand-make up to four classic Italian breads to take home – from the golden, open-crumbed Pane Pugliese to the salt-free, Tuscan staple Pane Toscano, the airy, chewy Ciabatta, and olive oil-rich Focaccia. You’ll also get to try your hand at two Italian favourites: crisp, snappable Grissini breadsticks and soft, griddled Piadina flatbreads – perfect for filling and folding. You will enjoy a demonstration of the earthy northern Pane di Segale (Italian rye bread), showcasing slower fermentation and deeper flavour. All doughs are hand-mixed and kneaded, with no additives or shortcuts – just real bread, made the Italian way. This course is relaxed, inspiring, and full of flavour – perfect for anyone who loves Italy, bread or both!
