We have a number of spaces to hire for your ceremony, reception drinks, meal and evening event.

Banquet Hall

Blackfriars’ ornate medieval Banquet Hall was the celebrated venue used by King Edward III to receive royal Scot, Edward Balliol, in 1334 and boasts authentic banners, chandeliers, stained glass windows and large oak tables.

Blackfriars' Parlour Bar was the original Parlour for the Dominican Friars used to welcome guests.

Tasting Room

Our unique Tasting Room is located above the restaurant in the original Tanners Guild meeting area, featuring their original antique 19th century seating, and caters for a range of corporate and private events including wine, beer and whisky tasting.

King's Suite

Once offering accommodation for visitors to the friary, our King’s Suite, located above the Banquet Hall, is a multi-purpose function room private dining, reception drinks, buffets and meetings.

Outside Courtyard

Blackfriars benefits from a sheltered courtyard available for reception drinks throughout the day until 7pm for up to 50 guests. Please note although this is in theory a public space, visitors to the area have always respected private parties, even if they admire from afar.
