To mark New Year’s Eve, Blackfriars will be hosting an authentic medieval banquet served by friars and town wenches! We are delighted to welcome you honourable dignitaries, townsfolk of Newcastle to take a step back in time for a sumptuous feast in our ornate Banquet Hall, established by our brothers back in 1239.
The candle-lit hall which houses long convivial oak tables and chairs will be draped with wall hangings and tapestries and decorated with candles and fruit. You are invited to arrive in medieval costume and to feast on pottage and pies, roasts, cheese and pudding whilst being entertained by our minstrels.
Flagons of ale and fine wine will be available to purchase, to wash it all down, served by our esteemed friars and town wenches.
