BEER & BREAD MAKING

Sat, 7 March 2026 @ 9:30 am - 4:30 pm

£175

Beer and bread go hand-in-hand which makes sense given they share virtually identical chemical processes. Enjoy a full-on day of bread making using byproducts of St Dominic’s Brewery to make some amazingly lovely beery bakes including beer barm sourdough, rye bread, red beer spelt bread and hoppy ale soda bread! We follow the ethos of ‘Proper Bread’ using locally-milled stone-ground flours and sourdough starters to produce four or five wonderfully delicious and nutritious loaves. All dough is kneaded by hand. A basic knowledge will help but is not essential. These courses are relaxed, informative and fun.

WHERE: Blackfriars Cookery School

TIMES: 9.30am to 4.30pm

COST: £175 per person which includes ingredients, beer and refreshments throughout the day, a set three course communal lunch (including vegetarian option) with wine in the Cookery School, your own apron, breads and recipes to take home. Places are only confirmed once paid in full and are non-refundable or transferable.

WHAT TO WEAR: Aprons are provided though please arrive in comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit messy.
